Spin Painting

Over the past 2 weeks we have been experimenting with spin painting on our huge recycled frame. the children get a great sense of importance painting on these frames. Using such 'real resources' motivates children who would not usually favour art projects to explore the endless possibilities art provides to communicate our ideas and interests...

The idea of spin painting is to blob on as much paint and colour as you can onto a lid and then squish the lid onto the surface holding down tightly while spinning the lid around...

Children's favourite colours and pattern making abilities were communicated through their very unique discs, each one is different and easily identified by each child.

Santai expressing his colour blending skill and favour for blues and greens...

The finished product is a glorious colourful framed art piece. The process has allowed children to express their learning about colour, pattern and texture. We will be auctioning off our painting at a later date to raise money for the Sun Bears... Opening bid suggestions welcome
